These Terms & Conditions apply to all users of libyaherald.com (including registered members) and to all Libya Herald content and services (including newsletters).
These Terms & Conditions were updated on 12 May 2026. We may update them from time to time to reflect changes to our services or business practices; any changes will be notified in this section of the site. By accessing or using libyaherald.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Access and registration
Libya Herald may make some services or content available only to registered users. Any registration request is subject to our acceptance, and we may reject, suspend, or terminate registration at our discretion.
Access to libyaherald.com is granted at the sole discretion of Libya Herald and may be withdrawn at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to review these Terms & Conditions periodically and comply with the version in force when you access the site.
Accounts and password use
If you access libyaherald.com using a username and password, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. In particular:
Only one named individual may use a member account.
You must not share your password or permit others to access the site using your login.
Password sharing is a breach of these Terms & Conditions and may also infringe copyright.
Acceptable use
You must use libyaherald.com lawfully and in a way that does not harm the site, Libya Herald, or other users. In particular, you must not:
attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or network;
interfere with, disrupt, damage, overload, or impair the site (including by introducing malware, attempting denial-of-service, or using automated means to make excessive requests);
circumvent or attempt to circumvent access controls, paywalls (if introduced), or other technical measures used to restrict access to content;
use libyaherald.com to send or post unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or otherwise objectionable material.
Suspension and termination
Libya Herald may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to libyaherald.com (including any registered account) immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms & Conditions, if your use poses a security risk, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, your right to access and use Libya Herald content ends immediately, but provisions intended to survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and governing law) will continue to apply.
Service availability and force majeure
Libya Herald will operate libyaherald.com with reasonable skill and care and will use reasonable efforts to remedy faults of which it is aware. We aim to provide continuous access, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and we do not accept liability for interruption, delay, or failure caused by matters beyond our reasonable control (including the internet, third‑party communications providers, acts of God, or acts of third parties).
We will not be responsible for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms & Conditions where that delay or failure arises from events beyond our reasonable control (a “Force Majeure Event”), including (without limitation) act of God, war or threatened war, terrorism or threatened terrorism, strike, lockout, industrial action, epidemic or pandemic, fire, flood, drought, tempest, or any similar event.
Our obligations under these Terms & Conditions are suspended for the duration of any Force Majeure Event.
Disclaimers of warranties and limitation of liability
While Libya Herald seeks to ensure the content it publishes is accurate, we make no guarantee as to accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Libya Herald disclaims all warranties, representations, conditions, and duties (save for the duty of good faith), whether express or implied, including warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose. Libya Herald excludes any warranty as to the quality, accuracy, timeliness, performance, security, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of libyaherald.com and Libya Herald content.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

Governing law and jurisdiction
If your principal address or principal use of libyaherald.com is in Libya, these Terms & Conditions are subject to Libyan law. If your principal address or principal use is outside Libya, these Terms & Conditions are subject to UK law. Libya Herald also retains the right to bring or enforce proceedings in the courts of (i) your country of residence, (ii) your principal place of business, and/or (iii) the country from which you registered for an account or otherwise accepted these Terms & Conditions.

Newsletters and email communications
Libya Herald may offer email newsletters now or in the future. Where you subscribe to a newsletter, you agree that:
Subscription and preferences. You will only receive newsletters if you sign up (or otherwise opt in) and you may be asked to confirm your subscription and set preferences.

If you submit, post, upload, publish, or otherwise make available any content to Libya Herald (including comments, messages, replies, photos, videos, or other material) on libyaherald.com or via our official social media accounts (“User Content”), the following applies:
You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Libya Herald a worldwide, royalty‑free, perpetual, irrevocable, non‑exclusive licence to use, host, reproduce, modify (for formatting and display), adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display your User Content in any media in connection with operating, promoting, and improving Libya Herald and our services.
You promise that you have all necessary rights and permissions to submit the User Content and that it does not infringe any third‑party rights (including copyright, privacy, or data protection rights) and is not unlawful, defamatory, or misleading.
Moderation. We may (but are not obliged to) review, moderate, edit, remove, or refuse to publish User Content at any time, and we may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches of these Terms & Conditions.
No confidentiality. Do not submit confidential information. User Content may be visible to the public and may be shared by others.

Copyright and intellectual property rights
Ownership. Unless otherwise stated, all rights (including copyright and database rights) in libyaherald.com and in all Libya Herald content (including, without limitation, editorial content, articles, headlines, text, graphics, images, videos, photographs, data, selection and arrangement, software, and design) are owned by or licensed to Libya Herald and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Limited licence. Subject to these Terms & Conditions, Libya Herald grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view Libya Herald content for your personal use (or, where you are an authorised business user, for internal business use only) on a single device/account. No other use is permitted unless we give you prior written permission.
Prohibited uses. You must not, and must not permit any third party to, without our prior written consent:
· copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, license, rent, or commercially exploit any Libya Herald content;
· create derivative works from, adapt, translate, modify, edit, or otherwise alter any Libya Herald content;
· systematically download, scrape, crawl, harvest, or index any part of libyaherald.com (including by use of robots, spiders, scrapers, or other automated means);

Enforcement. Any breach of this section is a material breach of these Terms & Conditions. Libya Herald may suspend or terminate your access (including business access), block accounts and/or IP addresses, and take such other action as it considers appropriate. Libya Herald reserves all rights and remedies available at law, including injunctive relief and claims for damages and costs.
Permissions. To request permission to reuse Libya Herald content, please use the Contact us link to contact the Editor in Chief.
General
Severability. If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No waiver. If Libya Herald does not enforce a provision of these Terms & Conditions, that does not mean we waive our right to do so later.
Assignment. Libya Herald may transfer (assign) its rights and obligations under these Terms & Conditions to another organisation. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
Third‑party rights. Unless expressly stated otherwise, no person who is not a party to these Terms & Conditions has any right to enforce any term of them.
