About us

Libya Herald first appeared on 17th February 2012 – the first anniversary of the Libyan Revolution. Over the past 14 years, it has become a trusted go-to source on news about Libya, for readers in Libya and around the world, regularly attracting millions of hits. Our independent coverage includes daily news and topical analysis, with a focus on business, politics and the economy.

Encouraged by growing interest in Libya, our first print publication was the Libya Herald Supplement ‘Libya’s Investment Needs 2013’ in November 2012. This was followed by the launch of our regular business magazine – Libya Herald: Business Eye on 17th February 2013.

Each edition included a sector focus and business features, alongside interviews with ministers and leading members of the business community in Libya. We published eight issues of the LibyaHerald Business Eye magazine, which were distributed in Libya and overseas, before pausing publication in 2014. Until we resume a print version of Libya Herald Business Eye magazine, we are planning to offer subscribers a Libya Herald online newsletter starting later in 2026.

We value the great number of visitors who are regular readers of our site checking our news daily for the latest developments in Libya, so we currently offer our readers access to Libya Herald content for free. However, in order for us to continue providing these news services and expand our activities, in the future, we may restrict some content to paid-subscribers only (as we briefly did in 2014-15).

Meanwhile, advertising is an important source of revenue for Libya Herald. If you want decision makers in Libya and around the world to be aware of your products, services or events, please visit our Advertising page for details on options, readership and global reach.

Our goal is to keep our readers in Libya and around the world, informed of latest news, opportunities and developments in Libya. So, if there is any business news you think we should be writing about, let us know.
